Background 

For 20 years, Mr. Ryder has focused on understanding the physics of fire in order to improve safety. He is involved in applied research efforts across a wide range of topics involving fire and life safety. He is the recipient of numerous applied research grants including NSF and FPRF. He has patents pending on innovative suppression and detection devices, and is the recipient of a number of awards including the Best Paper Award at the AUBE/SUPDET 2017.

Mr. Ryder serves as a Managing Partner at Fire & Risk Alliance, a firm focused on fire protection design, suppression testing, computer modeling and risk. In 2012, Mr. Ryder co-founded Custom Spray Solutions.

Mr. Ryder is qualified Subject Matter Expert for Saudi Aramco in Fire Protection, Loss Prevention and Hazard/Risk analysis. He is actively engaged in applied research related to advanced fire detection and fire state determination, fire suppression, and battery energy storage solutions.
